For a limited time, I am offering new self-pay clients a 30% discount—$105 per session—for your first 10 sessions (must be used within 4 months of starting). Just mention the "MZTC Launch" promo when you reach out!

Frequently asked questions

Do you only provide EMDR therapy?

No. I am a Certified EMDR Therapist, which means I have advanced training in the model. But, this training also enhances my learning in other interventions, such as Internal Family Systems or "parts work", somatic therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), existential therapy, attachment-focused therapy, play therapy, and psychodynamic therapy (all of which I pull from with different clients). In the assessment process and throughout treatment, we will (re)evaluate what intervention style fits you best. This does not need to include EMDR. See my blog post about this topic.

Do you offer sliding scale?

If you are uninsured and are unable to afford the self-pay rate, please reach out. I have an application process for sliding scale. However, there is no guarantee these are available, as it depends on various factors.

How much does it cost?

My self-pay rate is $150 per 60 minute session. I am committed to accessibility which is why I am partnering with Alma and Headway to accept various insurances. I can also provide superbills for self-pay clients if they wish to utilize out-of-network benefits.

I don't live in New Jersey, Tennessee, or South Carolina. Can you still be my therapist?

Unfortunately, due to clinical social work licensure laws, I will be unable to see someone who does not live in one of the states listed.

What insurance companies are you credentialed with?

I partner with Alma and Headway to accept health insurance. This list is updated occasionally, but it may not reflect the most current availability. If you want to use insurance benefits, we will submit your information before our first session to Alma or Headway so we can determine your eligibility and get an estimate for your co-pay.

What is your cancellation/no-show policy?

I value your time and the commitment you're making to therapy. When we schedule an appointment, I hold that time specifically for you. If you’re unable to attend, I ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice so that I can offer the time to another client who may be waiting for care.

If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, or do not attend the session, there is a late cancellation/no-show fee of approximately half of the full self-pay rate. This also applies if you’re present for less than 20 minutes of the session, as I am unable to bill insurance in these cases.

If I haven’t heard from you and you haven’t arrived within 20 minutes of the session start time, I will leave the virtual meeting and the late cancellation/no-show fee will be charged.

That said, I understand that unexpected things—especially health or family emergencies—can happen. If something prevents you from attending, please reach out as soon as you’re able, as I want to consider any circumstances that may warrant flexibility. However, I am unable to provide refunds if you reach out after I have charged your payment card, even in such circumstances.

I'm interested in working with you. What's the next step?
The most efficient way to get in touch with me is via email at info@michaelzuch.com or you can schedule your free 15-minute phone consultation directly with my calendar.
I am in crisis. Can we schedule an appointment?
I do not provide crisis services to new clients given the nature of virtual therapy and the limitations of outpatient mental health care. If you need immediate assistance, please check out these trauma-informed and vetted crisis resources or you can call 988.
